It was the most beautiful I have stayed in with the best value!

There was nothing this ryokan lacked! It was the most beautiful I have stayed in with the best value! It had a charming atmosphere and the two main baths were absolutely gorgeous! The staff was so kind and brought us steamed sweet potatoes on our first evening and sent us home with Nagano apples and a little omiyage! And it was so close to the snow monkeys which are a must visit! There are not enough words to explain how amazing this place was and I would go back to Yudanaka just for another night.

The owners go an extra mile for their customers.

The Ryokan is located about 50 yards from the Station. - The owners go an extra mile for their customers: You want a taxi - they drive you You forget an umbrella - they have spare ones You want a pumpkin at the farmers fair - they prepare it for you for dinner - The people in town are friendly to foreigners. Litte shoolgirls look at us with big eyes and wish us "konbanwan". We have been greeted at the station by a volunteer of the "english discusion class" We had a great time!

Excellent Japanese food.

Very nice traditional Japanese Ryokan, with 3 baths located on the premises. One is a family bath that you can use privately without reservation - great if you are a couple (or are too scared to bath naked and make a fool of yourself!). Excellent Japanese food. Friendly staff who speak a little English and were really helpful. They even gave us a free lift to the Monkey park and a little gift on our departure. Very close to Yudanaka Station and ideal for buses to the surrounding area.

We had both breakfast and dinner in the Inn, they were amazing.

Staff were fantastic, they were incredibly helpful, even though they did not speak much English they were always so friendly. They drove us to the monkey park which was very helpful. We had both breakfast and dinner in the Inn, they were amazing, the food was so good, I would definitely recommend having at least one breakfast and dinner there. As we were leaving they gave us delicious Fuji apples to take with us which was really nice and made our stay just that bit nicer.

The owners were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful.

We highly recommend Yudanaka Seifu-so. The owners were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our room was large and the area quiet. We had 3 onsen to choose from and opted for the outdoor one which was amazing and relaxing. The owner kindly offered to drive us to the monkey park in the morning and gave us apples and a little souvenir on our departure. We only stayed one night and wished we'd booked another 2 nights as the experience was well worth it!! Yudanaka is a lovely town.

The room was spacious and comfortable and the onsen was fantastic.

This is a traditional old fashioned onsen ryokan. The room was spacious and comfortable and the onsen was fantastic. It was a busy weekend for the ryokan and many of the other guests were smokers. The smoke spreads easily throughout the old wooden ryokan. My children loved the whole experience.

You can't get better value for money in Japan.

Very helpful owner, his mom and dad. Excellent onsen, great sized room and beer in the fridge in the room (good for a late arrival). You can't get better value for money in Japan.

The food was amazing, I suggest you try.

Absolutely fantastic stay! The food was amazing, I suggest you try. We came quite late, past closing time, and a DAY EARLY. They still woke up, phoned the manager(their son?), and arranged us a room. FANTASTIC service! Only thing to worry about is the coin laundry is quite a ways from the building. If you are going for a ride to the monkey park with the staff, be sure to asks where it is. One of the staff even gave us a gift of homemade apple jam when we left : ) which we enjoyed!

The owners were extremely welcoming and even gave us a lift to the monkey park.

This place was amazing from the owners who were extremely welcoming and even gave us a lift to the monkey park as it was quite late when we arrived to the building itself which is impressive in it's character. We can not recommend this place more highly. The surrounding area is also impressive and if you get the opportunity then I would highly recommend the 45 minute walk back to Yudanaka from the monkey park.

I would highly recommend staying here for all round atmosphere and value for money.

seifuso0601.jpgThis ryokan is run by the kindest family; they made me feel extremely welcome and were very helpful. They picked me up from the station and drove me to the monkey park which was a bonus. There are 3 Onsen here; one private, one indoors and one outdoors. The private one is extremely hot so enter with caution!! The outdoors one is beautiful. I would highly recommend staying here for all round atmosphere and value for money.

The best place in Japan where we slept.

seifusoApril2010.jpgThe best place in Japan where we slept. Ryokan staff is simply beautiful, kind, very familiar ambient. They came to wait us to the train station without asking them, and they took us to the monkey snow park by car because it was raining! Japanese style breakfast was delicious (oishii!) and they have a private onsen where you can stay as long as you wish. A++

The family and staff were so warmhearted, friendly and helpful.

Nice little village, beautiful landscape. About Seifu-so there's nothing more to say than perfect!!! The food was delicious, the rooms and the building itself are authentically Japanese and really beautiful. The hot spring was relaxing..... but above all the family and staff were so warmhearted, friendly and helpful. I've never stayed in such a great accommodation before. Thank you so much for everything!!!

I would stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone going to Yudanaka.

This was a wonderful, family run ryokan. It is not a party place, but was instead very peaceful and relaxing. There was private onsen that could be used by anyone at any time. The only downside was that the shower was not in the bathroom but outside with the onsen. Since we had a hot-tub every night then showered right after, this did not really pose a problem. Wonderful place! I would stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone going to Yudanaka.

The ryokan is also convenienetly located near Yudanaka Station.

I booked this ryokan Seifu-so because I heard about it from my friend. We walked to the Wile Monkey Park, of course. Thank you very much for the warm and kind welcome. We've enjoyed this ryokan very much and appreciated both of the inside and outside baths. The room was clean and quiet which gave us a comfortable rest. The ryokan is also convenienetly located near the Yudanaka station while very calm.

The food is great and the baths too. Especially the outdoor one.

We found Seifu-so on the web site JapanHotel.net and thought it souded and looked great. The ryokan is easy to find - just short minute from the Yudanaka station. We were welcomed very warmly by every staff and also given the information about monkey park and the bus that goes there. The owner even drove us there himself! The ryokan itself is great - clean, comfortable and warm. The food is great and the baths too. Especially the outdoor one. We can highly recommend this ryokan.

Staff were very attentive and friendly.

Room was impecable and well furnished. Very clean and charming. Everything you would hope for from a well runned ryokan. Staff were very attentive and friendly. We had a very warm welcom. Ryokan is well located, conviniently close to station and a bus ride away from Monkey bath. Highly recommended, we would definitely come back!

The owner drove us directly to the Jigokudani Monkey Park.

The proprietor's friendliness and hospitality more than makes up for the somewhat dated facility (its heyday was likely in 1975.) The owner drove us directly to the Jigokudani Monkey Park (the main local attraction), cooked us a fantastic traditional Japanese breakfast, and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable -- even serving us sake shots in the hotel's own "onsen" hot spring! We had a great stay.

I have really enjoyed my stay at Seifuso. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are incredibly freindly. As a traveler, traveling on my own, I felt very safe and well looked after. During my stay, I enjoyed the onsen, the snow monkeys, and yummy breafast in the morning. Thank you.

The room was a fantastic classic Japanese room, very large and comfortable with beautiful furnishings.

seihuso_bath.jpgYudanaka was a pleasant and short train trip from Nagano and the ryokan is only a couple of minutes walk from the station. The room was a fantastic classic Japanese room, very large and comfortable with beautiful furnishings. Staff were friendly and helpful. The owner even took us to see the snow monkeys and the baths, especially the outdoor one were great. This place is a good choice for people on a budget as long as they don't mind a slightly run-down atmosphere and a less-than-impressive breakfast. Make sure you ask for the big room. It's lovely and great value.

The staff was very kind and attentive to our needs.

The ryokan has a pleasant atmosphere. Almost as though you are staying at a friend’s home. The outdoor ofuro was extremely beautiful and relaxing. I felt very secured at all times. One recommendation I have is to maybe to post a map or better directions on the Hostelworld website. The staff was very kind and attentive to our needs.
