Ryokan Ichi-Fuji, Nagoya Arichives

September 30, 2011

If you would like to try the ryokan experience i'd recommend it.

Petit Ichifuji was a pleasant little ryokan a short distance from Ozone station. If you would like to try the ryokan experience i'd recommend it - good price, pleasant staff, nice rooms but 15mins or so from Sakae though if you want to go out.

This is definitely a traditional style inn.

This is definitely a traditional style inn, complete with traditional beds, very traditional bath, and a decent sized breakfast (which is decent if your usual breakfast isn't a Denny's grand slam size) . If you want a quiet place this is it. The directions are a little confusing to get there. Basically at Heian-Dori station exit via the elevator . Hang a right once you get off and it's straight ahead and you turn right at an alley just before the cosmetic store.

The private bath is very good and is exclusive.

ichifuji_heya.jpgThe people there are an interesting bunch and compliment the character. Don't expect the robotically perfect staff of a Tokyo hotel. This little inn seems to be part of the local community. Sometimes sleepy and not a soul around and at others a busy hive. Be prepared for using narrow stairs alot. The private bath is very good and is exclusive. Good for privacy bad if you have an important dinner and it's in use. Breaky is ok but small. Overall a memorable experience.

The staff were helpful and friendly.

We enjoyed the beautiful jazz music at night. Although the way to the hotel was a little difficult, the staff were helpful and friendly. Also the breakfast (especially the coffee) was very nice.

The staff were just wonderful and so helpful.

ifuji_heya.jpgVery friendly staff and nice to meet new people every day. Also impressed by clean and well organized inn. We felt very safe and did not need security box. Enjoyed Gifu Koen (a park in the neighboring prefecture Gifu) and found it easy to use subway. The staff were just wonderful and so helpful.

It was very unique Japanese experience.

Very nice experience, rooms was very relaxing and comfortable. Although a sign on other side of alley would help, staff was helpful. Breakfast was very good and the bath was great. It was very unique Japanese experience. Would like to see you next time when I am in Japan.
