Shibu Hotel is a cozy little hotel. The staff were very friendly and will do their utmost to please. We were certainly very well looked after. Takako and Kazuyoshi, you were most patient with us being non-Japanese speaking guests. Sometimes we managed to communicate and you would go out of your way to accomodate our requests. Thank you for making our stay such a pleasant one.

Yamatoya Honten has great character from the moment I stepped out of the lift. I felt that this was truly a Japanese experience. Great food! Staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. Location is excellant, close to shops, attractions and bus/subway stations.

We arrived at 2pm before the check-in time. Though we cannot check-in yet, the manager was extremely helpful and friendly, giving us maps, suggesting where we could go. The room was big, pleasant and very clean and comfortable. They even provide a private spa room for an hour which was excellent! Just 2 areas for improvement, the lobby lighting is dark which is not so welcoming and the location was not that easy to find. Overall great value for money and excellent service by the staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We arrived from Rome and we found the ryokan relaxing in a nice atmosphere. The food was very good. The staff was very patient with us explaining everything. For us, it was a new and good experience.

The hotel had a good Japanese atmosphere. Especially we loved the Japanese-style bath and the people working here are the best. Please stay here!
